How do I order a new Travel Card for South Africa? 
• Register with Exchange4free and login using your Member ID and Password
• Choose to 'Buy a Prepaid ZAR Travel Card' and follow the wizard 
• Your card can be collected at any international airport in South Africa or can be delivered to you if you are in the UK

How do I top-up my SA Travel Card? 
• Login using your Member ID and Password
• Choose to 'Buy a Prepaid ZAR Travel Card' and follow the wizard 
• As soon as we receive your funds they are credited real-time onto your South Africa Travel Card
 

How do I activate my South Africa Travel Card? 
• Logon to our website and select “activate card” from the main servicing menu, or
• Text “ACTIVATE” plus the last 4 numbers of your card number to 31571 from the cellphone number that you registered with, or 
• Telephone South Africa: 0861 113 673 and follow the process over the telephone

How do I select a PIN?
Your PIN is a four-digit number that you should memorise and keep secret. Do not write this number on your South Africa Travel Card or put it in your wallet or purse. You should protect your ZAR Travel Card just like cash. Protect both your card and PIN and never keep them in the same place. Even without a PIN, your SA Travel Card is still valuable and should not be left with anyone else. Keep your PIN secret at all times and do not share your PIN with anyone else. We will never ask you for your PIN over the phone and we will never ask you to send us your PIN via an email. If you receive a telephone call or email from anyone that asks for your PIN, you should contact Customer Service immediately at 0861 113 673.

Where can I use the South Africa Travel Card?
At over 28 million ATM’s (Automated Teller Machine) and retailers displaying the MasterCard logo. The South African Travel Card can be used at any ATM or POS device showing the Mastercard logo throughout South Africa. 

How do I use the card at an ATM?
You can withdraw cash at any ATM around South Africa using your PIN. Please select “Savings” or “Current” when asked for account type.

How do I use the South Africa Travel Card to purchase goods?
You will use your PIN, or you just sign the receipt handed to you by the merchant/retailer and your card balance will automatically be reduced by the amount of the transaction.

How do I check my balance on my SA Travel Card?
• By requesting a balance enquiry transaction at an ATM and POS terminal,
• Calling Customer Service or accessing the automated telephone system at 0861 113 673,
• Viewing account information on the secure website or
• SMS the word balance to 31571

Can the Rand Travel Card balance be overdrawn?
No, the balance on the travel card cannot be overdrawn. If the amount of your purchase or cash withdrawal is more than the balance on the card, the transaction will be declined. All balance information and transaction activity is updated in real-time and available immediately.

What happens if the Travel Card for South Africa is lost or stolen?
PLEASE CALL US IMMEDIATELY AT 0861 113 673 TO REPORT A LOST OR STOLEN CARD.
Once you have reported the loss or theft, the card number will be cancelled and you will not be able to use that travel card again. A new South Africa Travel Card will be issued to you to replace the stolen or lost card. You will have no risk of loss after you call us to report a lost or stolen card. The value of any purchase or cash withdrawal made with your card before you report a lost or stolen card cannot be refunded.
